Jane Mbatia

Certificate-in Media & Intellectual Property Law, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Jane is the Managing Partner at KM&M Advocates LLP

in charge of the Firms, client relations, strategy and development. She has over 30 years’ experience in law practice.

Jane has also worked in South Africa as an in-house counsel and Company Secretary for the largest public broadcaster in Africa and for a state owned South African mining company. She has also consulted for the South African public sector.

Jane’s specialization is in corporate commercial law and cuts across all sectors including, 

Banking and Finance, Media, Telecommunications and Mining.

Other areas of her general practice include Public Sector Advisory, Property and Conveyancing, and Corporate Governance.

Her Professional memberships include: The Law Society of Kenya, Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, Institute of Directors (Kenya), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya Chapter) and the Compliance Institute of South Africa.

Jane serves on several Boards.

KAMOTHO WAIGANJO

Senior Partner

Kamotho is a Senior partner at KM&M Advocates LLP. He is well known in Kenya from his tenure as a Commissioner to the

Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIOC) of Kenya. He is a renowned commercial and conveyancing lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in private practice.

His other practice areas include Alternative Dispute Resolution and International Trade Law. As a Senior Conveyancing lawyer he was the Convener of the Law Society’s Conveyancing and Property Law Committee for several years. He is also a long serving member of the Council of the Law Society and a Chartered Arbitrator.

His Professional memberships include: The Law Society of Kenya, Institute of Certified Public Secretaries and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

ANDREW MUCHIGI KARANI

Andrew has been a Partner of KM&M Advocates LLP since 2004. He has been in practice for 20 years and possesses a
wealth of knowledge and experience in Commercial law. Conveyancing and Litigation. He is renowned for excellent commercial litigation skills.

His other areas of expertise include dispute resolution and mediation.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked in several law firms in Nairobi.

His Professional Memberships include: The Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

MONICA GICHOBI

Associate

Monica’s main areas of practice are civil litigation, dispute resolution and mediation in the following areas: commercial law, employment & labour relations law, banking law, insolvency law, constitutional matters, Human rights law, debt collection, defamation, land disputes, intellectual property, insurance accident claims. 

Ms. Gichobi handles matters in the Court of Appeal, the High Court and subordinate courts and has acted as legal counsel for various banks, insurance companies and private clients. 

She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.

Monica is a focused and meticulous litigator.  

Stephanie Nduku Wachira

Associate

Stephanie’s area of expertise is in property acquisition and disposal, banking securitization, immigration matters, intellectual property, company formation and compliance, incorporation of various business entities and general corporate and commercial law practice.

She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law society of Kenya.

Stephanie is also a Certified Professional Mediator from the Mediation Training Institute of East Africa.

She is a dedicated professional and an all-rounded invaluable member of the Firm working closely with the team in delivering exceptional services to Clients.
